Muitas vezes, a internação do dependente químico se torna a única saída para a família, que já se encontra fragilizada com a situação e com os outros recursos esgotados para tentar ajudar o paciente, uma vez que já tentaram outras medidas que acabaram falhando.
Ao contrário do que muitas pessoas pensam, a internação, por mais difícil que seja para a família, é um ato de amor, oferecendo um resgate digno e seguro ao dependente químico, que já não sair daquela situação sozinho.
A dependência química é uma doença, e como qualquer outra, precisa de tratamento adequado, acompanhamento médico e apoio.
O que é a dependência química?
A definição de dependência química da pela Organização Mundial da Saúde é como uma doença crônica, progressiva e fatal. Ou seja, as suas consequências vão aumentando com o passar do tempo, podendo levar à morte. Ela também é considerada um transtorno mental, alterando o comportamento do indivíduo e o funcionamento do cérebro, fazendo o organismo a se adaptar cada vez mais à droga.
Em um relatório feito pela UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime), aproximadamente 5% da população mundial faz uso de drogas ilícitas, o que corresponde a cerca de 200 milhões de pessoas. O número de dependentes químicos ultrapassa a marca de 25 milhões. Ainda, de acordo com Organização das Nações Unidas – ONU, o número de dependentes químicos vem aumentando cada vez mais no Brasil nos últimos anos.
Vale ressaltar que dependência química nada tem a ver com falta de força de vontade ou de caráter, mas sim, uma doença que causa dependência e sobrepõe as vontades da própria pessoa.
As causas da dependência química envolvem uma série de fatores que abrangem aspectos biológicos, psicológicos e sociais, conhecido como fatores biopsicossociais, uma vez envolvem todos os quesitos da vida do indivíduo.
Como lidar com um dependente químico?
Estar ao lado de alguém que sofre com dependência química pode ser uma experiência assustadora e cheia de desafios, mas, muitas vezes, não medimos esforços para ajudar quem amamos. Veja algumas dicas que podem ajudar a lidar com um dependente químico:
1. Busque ajuda
Não tente passar por tudo sozinho. Entre em contato com outras pessoas que você confie, como familiares e amigos e explique sobre a situação. É possível internar um dependente químico contra a sua vontade?
Sim, é possível e permitido por lei, internar um dependente químico contra sua vontade. Ela ocorre sem o consentimento do paciente, a pedido de familiares ou do responsável legal, quando o paciente apresenta risco a de vida a ele mesmo e aos seus familiares e círculo social. A legislação também determina que a internação precisa ser realizada com a autorização e decisão do médico credenciado.
A internação contra a vontade do paciente se dá quando já se esgotou outras possibilidades de tratamento e alguns fatores são avaliados como o tipo de droga consumida, o padrão de uso e comprovação da ineficácia de outras tentativas e alternativas para tratamento.
Qual a diferença entre internação involuntária e compulsória?
Apesar de tanto a internação involuntária e a compulsória acontecerem sem o consentimento do paciente, a principal diferença entre as duas se dá no fato da compulsória acontecer pela determinação de um juiz.
Enquanto a internação involuntária se trata de uma decisão médica, solicitada pelos membros da família do dependente químico ou por seu responsável legal, a internação compulsória é consequência de uma medida judicial, a partir da análise de um laudo médico e sem a necessidade da autorização de familiares ou do próprio paciente.
Como solicitar uma internação involuntária?
O primeiro passo para solicitar uma internação involuntária se dá com a solicitação por escrito de algum membro da família ou responsável legal do dependente. A partir disso, é feito uma avaliação médica por um profissional credenciado e registrado no Conselho Regional de Medicina do Estado, que irá autorizar a internação. Além disso, é preciso que o procedimento seja devidamente comunicado ao Ministério Público Estadual em que a internação será feita em até 72 horas.
Para alta do paciente também é necessário realizar o comunicado ao Ministério Público e ela pode se dar em duas situações:
- Caso o familiar solicite por escrito a alta do paciente;
- O profissional responsável pelo tratamento determina a alta.
Vale lembrar que apesar de muito debatida, a internação involuntária é um método seguro que irá oferecer ao dependente químico acompanhamento 24 horas e todo o suporte necessário com uma equipe especializada, dando então, a chance ao paciente de interromper o vício e retomar a sua vida, com autonomia e qualidade.
Quem pode pedir a internação involuntária?
O pedido de internação involuntária pode ser feito por familiares próximos ou pelo responsável legal do paciente. Na ausência dos mesmos, é permitido pela Lei de Internação Involuntária a possibilidade da solicitação por órgãos públicos que sejam membros do Sistema Nacional de Políticas Públicas sobre Drogas (Sisnad) ou servidores públicos da área da saúde.
Quanto tempo leva para um dependente químico se recuperar?
O tempo de internação e recuperação de cada paciente pode variar de pessoa para pessoa e de acordo com o protocolo da clínica. Isso porque o estado do paciente, a droga utilizada, o nível de dependência, a sua motivação em melhorar, a resposta aos medicamentos e terapias e outras variáveis podem influenciar no processo de recuperação.
O mais indicado é que o paciente se mantenha em tratamento até que haja a reabilitação completa, com valores e responsabilidades restabelecidos e em sobriedade, sendo então, capaz de retomar a sua vida e a viver em sociedade.
O tempo de internação pode variar de 90 dias a 6 meses, sendo necessário uma avaliação médica e acompanhamento multidisciplinar ao longo do tratamento para estabelecer o tempo adequado e seguro para o paciente.
Como ocorre o processo de desintoxicação da droga?
O processo de desintoxicação da droga é complexo e exige acompanhamento médico para que ocorra da melhor maneira possível e seja bem sucedido.
De maneira resumida, o processo de desintoxicação consiste na administração cada vez menor da substância química psicoativa até chegar ao ponto de o corpo não sentir mais a necessidade de consumi-la. Como essas substâncias alteram o funcionamento e estrutura do corpo humano, interrompê-las totalmente e repentinamente não é o mais recomendado.
Em outras palavras, a desintoxicação irá buscar restabelecer o equilíbrio psíquico do paciente, para que assim, sua atividade cerebral que já está acostumada com as substâncias químicas, consiga voltar a realizar sua atividade sem esse estímulo prejudicial ao corpo e ao organismo.
Nessa fase, o paciente pode apresentar crises de abstinências, que causam sintomas físicos e psicológicos intensos, e por isso, precisa de acompanhamento médico para controle de seus efeitos.
Quais os sintomas da abstinência?
A crise de abstinência causa desconforto físico e psicológico ao dependente químico e ocorre quando há uma interrupção ou diminuição da quantidade habitual consumida da droga.
O tipo de droga e o tempo de dependência podem influenciar nos sintomas e na sua intensidade. Mesmo que necessária no processo de tratamento do paciente, a abstinência é extremamente perigosa, podendo causar surtos psicóticos e, portanto, precisa de total acompanhamento médico especializado.
Os sintomas mais comuns observados em crises de abstinência são:
- apatia;
- delírios;
- irritabilidade;
- agressividade;
- confusão mental;
- alterações no sono;
- aumento do apetite;
- problemas de memória;
- disfunção psicomotora;
- transtornos de ansiedade;
- comportamentos compulsivos.

É possível haver recaídas após a internação?
Sim. A recaída faz parte do processo de recuperação do paciente e, por isso, mesmo após a internação e desintoxicação ela pode ocorrer.
